Aldus Manutius: From Incunabula to Modern Print (1494-1515)

9 October 2015(1 pm – 4.30 pm), Uppsala University Library/Carolina Rediviva (Dag Hammarskjölds väg 1, 752 37 Uppsala, Sweden)

This is a half day colloquium at the university library, opened by Prof. and Library Director Lars Burman. A selection of the library’s books printed by Aldus Manutius is on display and will be introduced by Senior Librarian Laila Österlund. It will be followed by a number of lectures: “Aldus Manutius – renaissance humanist and book printer” (Fil. Dr Erik Hamberg), “Manutius and the Greek literature” (Prof. Ingela Nilsson), ”Aldus Manutius and the handy pocket book” (Prof. and former Library Director Ulf Göranson) and “The new learning and the development of typography 1470-1530” (Prof. Håkan Lindström).

Free admission, but limited space requires registration in advance to Laila.osterlund@ub.uu.se Language: Swedish

The exhibition, free admission, will run from 9 October to 31 December 2015.
