Hosting
In addition to the datasets it hosts, CERL also aims to research-generated data of importance for its focus on early printed books from 1450-1830, that would otherwise be lost.
Where possible, CERL aims at integrating this material into its established services, so that it continues to be accessible for later consultation and re-use.
Our shared hosting environment allows us to make connections between datasets and the service therefore has the potential to evolve into a central data hub for research data related to historic books. Libraries,
Scholars or Projects wishing to use the CERL environment in their workflow, could be provided with direct access to CERL resources, such as the Heritage of the Printed Book database, MEI and the CERL Thesaurus. An early contact with CERL in order to estimate the impact and involvement and to discuss a potential contribution of your enriched data back to CERL at the end of your project is mandatory.
