The database is freely available to all libraries and scholars who wish to use it to record data from their collections. Once in MEI, records can be downloaded in Marc21 or Unimarc Holdings for integration into local OPACs.

MEI is currently available with an English and an Italian interface.  Translations into other languages are being prepared.</description>
