Host Item Identifier

The host item identifier links a copy to the proper bibliographic description from the ISTC.

When creating a new copy the host item identifier is set automatically by the system. If a copy record needs to be transferred from one bibliographic record to another (e.g. if it has been linked to that bib record by mistake), delete the current host item identifier and replace it with the ISTC-No. of the new bib record. Caution: Make sure the host item identifier is a valis ISTC-No.
