====== Provenance data in the CERL Thesaurus ======

Although the [[:resources:cerl_thesaurus:main]] records do not contain bibliographical data for provenances, records for Personal Names and Corporate Names may hold links to provenance information held on OPACs and other databases on the internet.

Users of the Thesaurus can limit their searches to include only those records for which provenance information is available. 

Currently, data from the following libraries are available:

The Provenance Database features former owner records with images of marks of ownership, dates indicating when these were used, transcriptions and descriptions on the marks of ownership as well as biographical or historical information where available. Reference is given to the books the marks were digitized from.

In addition the detailed bibliographic description, there are more than 2,000 digitised images of illustrations and title pages accessible via this database.
